Amelia Earhart is a female aviator that was the first female aviator to fly across the Atlantic ocean. She disappeared in on her flight to Howland Island on July 2, 1937.

Flights[]

In 1932 she flew from Newfoundland to Paris to emulate Charles Lindbergh's famous flight. Due to machincal problems, she landed in a pasture in Northern Ireland. Which became the site of the Amelia Earhart museum. In 1936, Amelia was planning a around the globe flight. a Lockheed Electra 10E that was built to her specifications which included an upgraded fuel tank. Amelia refereed to this as her "flying laboratory". Although it was built more around her intention to fly around all the world. In March 17, 1937, she attempted her first flight and it failed. She later tried a second attempt this time starting from Oakland to Miami, Florida. She then flew off from Lae to try to go to Howland island.
