Thomas Peter Thorvald Kristian Ferdinand Mortensen (b. 16 August 1882 – d. 25 April 1998) was a Danish-American supercentenarian. When he died he was 115 years and 252 days old, which was, at the time and until 2012, the longest verified lifespan of any male in history. On 28 December 2012, Jiroemon Kimura of Japan surpassed this record. Mortensen was the first man confirmed to reach age 114 (in 1996) and 115 (in 1997) and one of only three verifiably known to reach 115, the other two being Emiliano Mercado del Toro (in 2006) and Kimura (in 2012).
