Go! Animate is an animation site where users can make animations.

Types of videos

• Grounded Videos: The most common type of video made from Go! Animate. Go! Animate is often criticized for and are often associated with them.
• (USER) OS videos: these types of videos are where users would use their OSes like normal (usually OSes like Windows Longhorn, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.) But then they get updated to OSes made by hated characters/users.
• (USER) Error videos: An error that can come up for no explained reason. It is never explained in universe how it is triggered. But it does have some similarities to ransomware. If the character that has an error shuts down their computer, most of time, they get punished by said character for shutting down their computer.

Criticism

Grounded videos

Go! Animate is often criticized for providing a platform for grounded videos to be made. In response to this, Go! Animate made their site a required payment business site, and removed "Go! Animate casual". In late 2014, Go! Animate removed Go! Plus, which got criticism from users. In late 2015, they announced that on January 2016, that they would remove HTML5. (see more info below)

Removal of voices/sounds/music

Some users criticize Go! Animate for times when they remove voices, sounds and/or music from Go! Animate. They sometimes remove voices due to the license expiring. Similar reasons might be for the sounds effects and Music. On June 21, 2016, they removed some sounds from Go! Animate for Schools and replaced them with new sounds.

Removal of Go!Plus

Due to the large userbase, they removed Go!Plus, this was heavily criticized by many.

Removal of Comedy World

Comedy World's removal on most payments has been often criticized by the Go! Animate Community very much. Some Go! Animate videos made near the time often ended with a "sad news" about it or a "sad moment" due to its removal. Go! Animate founder Alvin Hung has received death threats and Go! Animate community typical dislike (although no grounded video about Alvin hung surfaced) due to the removal of Comedy World. Comedy World, along with Lil'peepz, Cartoon Classics, Chibi Peepz, Lil'petz, World Space Citizens, White Houserz, Good on Paper, Stick Figure it out, Space Peepz, Talking Picz, and Wild Life were removed because they weren't compatible with HTML5. Said themes were also later removed from Go! Animate for Schools. Despite the removal, some users found the old themes under a hidden menu, which was later removed. Users then made fake school emails in order to use Go! Animate for Schools (which had the old themes), which was also updated to HTML5. Users then used Go! Animate for Wix which has the old themes.
